Precision GPS
Ultra 4 keeps Apple Watch in the serious outdoor-training lane. Ruck Mode now treats GPS breadcrumbs as route proof for loaded-mile sessions.
Apple announced Apple Watch Ultra 4 with precision dual-frequency GPS, longer workout battery context, and off-grid safety hardware. Ruck Mode adds the rucking layer: pack weight, loaded pace, private route breadcrumbs, and proof receipts.

Ultra 4 is positioned around longer battery life and Max Extended Workout tracking. Ruck Mode turns that endurance into load, pace, climb, and receipt context.
Satellite and safety features are Apple hardware capabilities. Ruck Mode stays honest: it is training software, not a rescue or emergency dispatch service.
Each workout sample can carry latitude, longitude, and horizontal accuracy. The app grades route readiness as settling, weak, locked, or precision route.
When the route is locked, the receipt can support repeat attempts on the same benchmark route without exposing full GPS tracks in AI debrief.
The live watch screen now surfaces GPS lock, breadcrumb count, and route distance next to pace, heart rate, save state, and load.
The iPhone Train and Detail screens show GPS Route Proof with point count, route miles, average accuracy, and a privacy reminder.
For athletes who already want Apple Watch Ultra 4 instead of a separate Garmin ecosystem, Ruck Mode is the ruck-specific layer: pack weight, loaded pace, route proof, Loaded Mile Score, Mission Debrief, and challenge receipts. It does not claim Apple affiliation, official military scoring, medical guidance, or rescue capability.
